I have wanted to play electric guitar ever since I could remember. I got my first guitar when I was thirteen and took lessons for about 5 years. I was heavily influenced by guitar players such as Satriani and Vai but a band called Dream Theater changed how I looked at music completely. Watching a band take such a different approach to writing music was so inspiring. Their album AWAKE is my favorite album of all time and changed my musical direction forever.
7-string electric guitars are my instrument of choice. Their range better fits the type of music I play (low tuned riffing and lead guitar soloing). I own a few 7-strings and each one is unique.
Dread Effect is kind of like a rebirth for me. Everyone in this band is not only a good musician, they are also great people. We are a family and we honestly enjoy being around each other. My goal with this band is to create great music that moves people and to show others that great music can be created without abusing yourself or being a tortured anti-social, stuck-up artist.
